This week I relate my own personal experience of Ethiopian medical care, and Chris has been to visit some of the "Y'Tesfaye Birhan" girls in their homes in the rain.
This week Chris gets all cultural and tries to light a candle; Phil reflects on the tragedies that are a daily occurrence here. We wrote these posts on Friday evening during a power cut; charged laptops glowing along with several candles and the crackle of a lovely log fire to keep the rainy season chill and damp out.
School is still out so Chris is still sorting out her classroom, along with some little furry friends. I am reminiscing on dental health, water shortages, and riots in Addis.
Chris wrote a couple of blog posts last week about Yetesfaye Birhan and a visit to a Dutch school providing a dramatic contrast to the school she visited in Debre Zeit. I report this week on a number of things including a remarkable story from a remarkable missionary. There are a couple of galleries of pictures to see. This is the last blog before our holiday in the UK next week.
This week Chris reports on a school a couple of hours drive from Addis; the Yetesfaye Birhan girls have had an end of term feast, and Phil has been buying cake. There's a big gallery of photos - don't miss it!
