This is one of many entrances to Meskel Square. The new elevated railway line now dominates the northern side and almost obliterates the view of  the square from the seating area reserved for the high and mighty. The construction is nowhere near finished but this evening the bridge found a role in providing a good view for many of the federal police protecting the hundreds of thousands of people converging on the square to watch the goings on.Check out where Rob (in the blue jacket) is walking - he's in a "pothole" (the entire visible road surface in front of him and to his right). This road is normally teeming with traffic.
