Time for blogging has been a bit limited these last few weeks as I had to do a couple of talks at church which proved challenging. Anyway, here's something about a few of my patients, two posts from Chris and a very well written reflection from Aaron after his first visit to Ethiopia.

A Tale of Two Cases

Several years ago Fekadu and his family had been living in very poor circumstances - until he was employed by SIM Ethiopia. Although the wages are low he has been able to support his wife and two children, doing a job that involves being on his feet all day.

At the start of each Tuesday Amharic lesson I am always asked the same question “What did you do over the weekend?”

 

Inspiration

One of the most exciting times for me as a Christian youth worker is seeing a young person “get it”. You know the face: you can see the cogs turning and then it’s replaced by a huge smile. Before heading away to Ethiopia I was working out why Mum and Dad have done what they have done (so far!) but it took me going out and seeing the life to understand how. The penny dropped for me after one sentence from Mum, “I just like that every day is not the same out here!” That was it; that was how she was doing it. Let me explain.
